Product Description
Electromagnetic Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy Plantar Fasciitis Pain Relief
BS-SWT5000 is a professional Radial Shockwave Therapy (RSWT) system, which is a method for the treatment of superficial orthopedic disorders developed over the past 20 years especially for pain associated with the musculoskeletal. A shockwave is defined as a wave with a rapid increase of pressure within a very short time and then having a gradual decrease of pressure with a small negative pressure phase. Shockwaves are aimed at the affected areas that are the source of chronic pain. The influence of the shockwaves causes to the dissolution of calcium deposits and leads to better vascularization. The after-effect is relief from the pain.
The BS-SWT5000 SWT system uses the ballistic principle of shockwave generation: A pressure wave is formed via a bullet by using accelerated compressed air. The compressed air is generated by an electronically-controlled ballistic-pressure compressor. Using elastic impact, the kinetic energy of the bullet is transferred into the probe of the applicator and then into the client's body. Consequently, during the treatment, the end of the applicator must be in direct -contact with the skin and subcutaneous tissue.
Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is a new treatment which is non-surgical, non-invasive, involves no time off your feet and best of all no anaesthesia is required. In most cases patients can usually get back to sports and resume work after a few days without any pain. It is considered a breakthrough treatment that can make problems like heel pain virtually obsolete. For this reason, shockwave therapy is the best way forward when treating foot injuries.
Shockwave therapy is a technique used for treatment of painful, chronic conditions such as:
- Plantar Fasciitis or Fasciosis (Strained Arch)
- Achilles Tendinitis
- Calcific Tendinosis
- Knee Pain
- Heel Pain
- Muscle Pain and Injuries
- Joint Injuries
- Morton’s Neuromas
This therapy treats conditions which are otherwise difficult to treat with conventional physiotherapy.
How does Shockwave Therapy work?
During Shockwave therapy, a high-intensity, very short energy wave that interacts with the tissues of the body. This leads to a cascade of beneficial effects such as reversal of painful conditions of the musculoskeletal system. Simply put, extracorporeal shockwaves stimulate certain components within the body so the body is able to heal. In addition to stimulating the healing process, Shockwave Therapy seems to have a direct effect on nerves, diminishing pain.
